Dating profiles go beyond taking 5 cute pictures, 1 activity shot and 1 full-body shot

At least they do if you want to cut to the chase of only dating people you are in sync with you

When I was dating online, one of my profile pictures was a display of books

But not just any stack of books

A stack of books that messaged who I was culturally, politically, and personally

It also indicated places that I liked to hang out

The conversations I liked to have and things I enjoyed doing

And it spoke directly to the person I wanted

In a language he would understand, but would make others scratch their heads

But before you break out a stack of books and go rushing to take a picture

Understand that it wasn’t about the books

It was about knowing myself and my person so well that I could use words and pictures to signal him that I was here

And it worked

I share the details of this process in a module of the Dating after Divorce program called “Irresistible You”

It’s a deep dive, exploratory process to uncover what it is about you that will call out to the man you want

It takes a little bit of time to go through this

But when you're done, you will have uncovered the unique description that needs to go on your profile

And so far, none of my clients has had used a stack of books - because each of them uncovered her own unique message

They showed up as they truly are - attracting the right one and repelling the wrong ones

Another example:

One client, a writer with three published books, was getting a few too many weird messages from guys who wanted to “hang out”

Her hobbies listed on the profile included trying new foods, hiking, reading, and writing

So we went through the deep dive and removed the more generic hobbies

Then added the fact that her perfect first date would be an evening at a book signing or university lecture

And immediately the “hanger-outer” numbers plummeted

I guess they weren’t up for a book-signing adventure

But she knew that her perfect person would resonate with it

I have a different example of this messaging for every client

Each of them creates a profile as individual as she is
