“I became such a full time mom and homemaker that I had forgotten my favorite food or color."
"When women don't realize how much they lose themselves, when they start putting their marriage, their kids, their home first…they really let go of their identity.”
“I think the biggest mistake that I made and that I see a lot of women that come to me make, is they think that once we clear this up, that's it, you know, and we're done. And I think if we can be more loving and compassionate with ourselves we’ll realize that this is a daily work.”
“You know, if we can encourage women to stop judging themselves, stop taking the blame. You could have been the most horrible wife. But guess what? Amazing wives also get divorce.”
My guest on the podcast this week is Michelle Vasquez.
Michelle Vasquez is a Goal & Life Coach for divorced women. She works with her clients to set goals & the clear path to overcome obstacles and ensure that they achieve their goals.
When her marriage of 11 years ended, and she had three boys under the ages of eight to raise, she felt like her whole life crumbled right in front of her and she couldn't do anything to keep it together, change it, or go back to how things were. Fast forward 11 years, she got remarried to a wonderful man and has been remarried for seven years.
From all the struggles and victories, Michelle believes that the fact that she and her ex-husband have always been able to have a great co-parenting relationship has been the biggest victory.
